A quiet day for Formula 1
The Formula 1 circus pitched up in Budapest but there was little to report on Thursday with Jenson Button making no comment about the recent problems with BAR and Williams. David Coulthard said he was interested in joining BAR and that was about it. Behind the scenes however things are still moving along with Renault F1 chief designer Mark Smith and the team now looking likely to go to legal action to sort out their current stand-off. Smith is expected to end up at Jordan within a matter of weeks.
Jarno Trulli has yet to be officially confirmed at Toyota but our sources say that the deal is done and all that is now needed is an announcement, while the latest word on the street is that Red Bull and Jaguar are not going to do a deal for 2005 and that the most likely outcome now is that Ferrari will place Formula 3000 stand-out Vitantonio Liuzzi at Sauber and that Red Bull will support the deal.
