Kovalainen wins at Lausitz

Renault rising star Heikki Kovalainen scored two dominant wins in the Nissan World Series at the weekend at the Lausitzring. He was chased home in the first race by his championship rivals Enrique Bernoldi and Tristan Gommendy but in the second Tiago Monteiro grabbed second at the start and then held up the rest of the field as he fought off Jean-Cristophe Ravier, who eventually forced his way ahead. Bernoldi and Felix Porteiro were both eventually able to pass Monteiro in the closing stages of the race. The result means that Kovalainen has increased his lead in the championship to 22 points over Bernoldi, with Monteiro 10 points in arrears in third place.
