Bobby, Buddy and Tony go to the White House

Tony George, the boss of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the man behind the United States Grand Prix joined Indy 500 winner Buddy Rice and team boss Bobby Rahal on a visit to the meet President George W Bush at the White House in Washington. The visit, organized to celebrate Rice's unexpected win at Indianapolis, was the first by a 500 winner since Rick Mears visited George Bush Sr at the White House back in 1991.

The team displayed the Indianapolis 500-winning car and the famous Borg Warner Trophy on the South Lawn of the White House during the day of the visit, which helped to raise the profile of open-wheeler racing in America.
