Ecclestone to move on qualifying again
Bernie Ecclestone spent Saturday afternoon going around the teams after the qualifying at Silverstone trying to get the format changed after the pre-qualifying session was marked by teams trying to go slower than their rivals. This bizarre situation emerged because rain was threatening and teams were guessing that it would rain midway through the final qualifying session and were trying to go slowly enough to run early in the session. This created the bizarre situation of drivers backing off and cruising across the line.
The actual qualifying session remained dry and there was an interesting battle for pole position, producing the unexpected result of Kimi Raikkonen on pole position for the race.
