Liuzzi on pole
Italy's rising star Vitantonio Liuzzi took pole position for the Silverstone Formula 3000 race on Friday, taking his fifth pole position in six events. Liuzzi has won four of the five races to date but is still under threat in the championship because of the consistent performance of his chief rival Enrico Toccacelo, who has finished second on several occasions and who won at the Nurburgring, the one event in which things went wrong for Liuzzi.
Liuzzi's impressive performance this year is beginning to attract more and more interest from the Formula 1 teams as they look towards their plans for the 2005 season.
