It's all change in Formula 3000

The current instability in Formula 3000 has been highlighted in recent days with a number of significant changes in the line-up for the next races. Patrick Friesacher has left Super Nova Racing and is believed to be on his way to Coloni Motorsport where he it is rumoured he will replace Jeffrey Van Hooydonk. The Belgian driver could however be called in to replace Friesacher although there are also suggestions that a lack of sponsorship could result in championship leader Enrico Toccacelo switching to Super Nova because he can no longer afford to race with BCN Competition. This has not been confirmed.

Rodrigo Ribeiro has departed from Durango and will be replaced by Venezuela's Ernesto Viso, who had decided to move up from the British Formula 3 series.

Problems at he Nurburgring meant that Vitantonio Liuzzi lost his lead in the series to Toccacelo, despite the fact that he has won three or the four races this year. Liuzzi thus starts favourite for victory at Magny-Cours.
