Zonta and Toyota
A rumour kicking around in the paddock at Indianapolis was that Ricardo Zonta has been signed to be Ralf Schumacher's team mate at Panasonic Toyota Racing next year. Our sources say that the rumour is not true and that Zonta will remain as the team's test driver for another season as he has shown considerable aptitude for the job. We hear that the team is going to go for an experienced driver and so there is not much hope for the youngsters who have only tested F1 cars rather than racing them. It is however good news for the likes of David Coulthard and Giancarlo Fisichella.
An announcement about Toyota drivers is expected within a matter of weeks.
