New chief executive for Melbourne

Tim Bamford has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. Bamford, 42, joined the AGPC in 1996 as its Engineering Manager, in 1998 he became Event Manager and in 2003 was named General Manager - Operations. He had previously worked in Europe, the United States and Asia.

Mark Maskiell has become deputy chief executive.

Steven Wright left the corporation recently to pursue private business interests.
