Spanish GP boycott unlikely
Any ideas that there might have been about a boycott of the Spanish GP by Formula 1 teams protesting against the new European Arrest Warrant are unlikely to go ahead because of commercial pressures on the teams.
"It would be financial suicide for us to boycott a race," said one team boss. "We don't agree with the Euroepan Arrest Warrant but it is not something over which we are going to risk our businesses."
It is anticipated that the team bosses will agree to keep up the pressure on individual governments to grant waivers for Formula 1 races in countres which have adopted the new arrest warrant.
