Michelin not worried about tyre failures
Michelin boss Pierre Dupasquier says that he is not worried about three apparent tyre failures in practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso, Anthony Davidson and David Coulthard all suffered tyre problems on Friday afternoon. Alonso had a right rear failure but the other two drivers had problems with the rear left.
"We have a lot of tyres which did not fail," said Dupasquier. "That is the good news. We need to investigate what happened but two of the three were obvious punctures rather than a tyre failure. With David we are not yet sure. We need to investigate. Give us time."
