The F1 engineers of tomorrow

The F1 in Schools competition has been such a success in Britain in recent years that last week there was a reception at the House of Commons in London to thank the sponsors and supporters of the programme. These include Jaguar F1, BAE Systems, Denford Ltd and Pitsco.

F1 in Schools aims to promote engineering as an exciting and rewarding career and this year the competition attracted 20,250 pupils from 450 schools. The winners entries will compete against teams from 12 other countries in the first international competition, which will be held in October.

The House of Commons event was hosted by Richard Burden, the minister who keeps an eye on motorsport in the UK.
