A concert for Senna

The Ayrton Senna Institute in Brazil is to mark the 10th anniversary year of the great Brazilian driver's death with a concert on March 20, the day before what would have been his 44th birthday. The Senna in Concert event will be held in the Pacaembu Stadium in Sao Paulo and about 30,000 people are expected to attend the event which will celebrate the Brazilian's legacy to the Brazilian people.

"Ayrton will always be remembered for his talent and victories as a driver," says his sister Viviane Senna, President of the Institute, "but there is much more. Ayrton was proud of being a Brazilian, and pursued the ideal of building a more just and equitable nation. As a person or as a professional, he always showed his beliefs and values by his actions in such a way that he won admiration and respect. This year we want to celebrate his values to evoke the Ayrton Senna that lives within each of us to remember that hard work combined with determination and discipline can make a dream come true."

The concert will feature many of Brazil's top artists and among those expected to attend are former F1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, soccer star Ronaldinho and TV presenter Xuxa, an old girlfriend of Senna.
