Patrick Racing calls off IRL programme

Pat Patrick has called off his planned Indy Racing League programme because he has not been able to raise the finance needed for the programme. The team was informed of the decision on Wednesday. Patrick had been hoping to put together a programme involving veteran driver Al Unser Jr. but it seems that the Unser name was a big enough draw to enable Patrick to find the money needed in the time available.
