Glock lands third Jordan drive

Timo Glock has been signed by Jordan to act as the team's third driver at races this year. The 21-year-old German was a frontrunner on occasion in the Formula 3 Eurocup in 2003. Prior to that he made his name as the 2000 Formula BMW ADAC Champion.

"Timo Glock is one of the most promising young driving talents in Germany at the moment and I'm delighted that we are able to offer him a regular F1 testing role," said Eddie Jordan. "He's come up through the junior categories quickly and this will give him an invaluable opportunity to learn every grand prix circuit on the calendar. It's a perfect training ground and will also help the team in terms of having another car's data to assist with our preparation for each race. Timo has really impressed our engineers with his testing feedback and we are now hoping to guide him through this next stage of his career with the ultimate aim for him to become a Grand Prix driver of the future."

It is not clear where Glock's backing comes from.
