Ganassi laughs off Formula 1 rumour

A report from Autosport.com suggesting that US team owner Chip Ganassi is looking at a Formula 1 project is not to be taken too seriously. Ganassi laughed when told of the suggestion and then remarked "Yeah, I think about F1 sometimes. And then I stop and don't think about it again.''

Ganassi has long been close with Frank Williams of the Williams team - the twohaving done considerable business together over drivers with Alex Zanardi, Juan Pablo Montoya and Bruno Junqueira so he could easily find out what a Formula 1 budget needs to be. This is many times the budget that is needed in CART or the IRL.
