A conventional new F2004

The new Ferrari F2004 is not radical at all - despite descriptions earlier this month by team boss Jean Todt. The new car is an evolution of the existing F2003 GA with the team having once again looked at all aspects of the cars and tried to improve them. The engine is a development of the existing units but the 053 has been beefed up to improve its longevity to meet the new regulation in 2004 that the engines must last for an entire race weekend. The car, Ferrari's 50th Formula 1 car, features some interesting aerodynamic tweaks and a much neater rear end.

The car will begin testing immediately in the hands of Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer.
