Bruni confirmed at Minardi

As exclusively predicted by www.grandprix.com more than a month ago, Gianmaria Bruni has signed to drive for the Minardi team in 2004. The 22-year-old Roman brings considerable finance with him, rumored to be in the region of $5m. Bruni should not however be considered as a simple pay-driver as he clearly has considerable talent. He impressed Minardi this year while testing for the team on Fridays and was often a contract some weeks ago on the understanding that he could raise the money needed.

This year Bruni has been racing in the European Formula 3000 series but made his reputation in British Formula 3 in 2000 and 2001 after a successful career in European Formula Renault in 1999.

The news means that Minardi now has just one seat left for 2004 with a number of drivers in competition for the job.
