British GP to move to July 11?

In December it seems that the French Grand Prix will be taken off the Formula 1 calendar for next year and that will mean that the July 11 date will be empty. This has always been the traditional event for the British Grand Prix and is the date that the British wanted for 2004. The date they were given was July 4, a week earlier, and this was a direct clash with the Wimbledon tennis competitions and the final of the Euro 2004 soccer competition in Portugal. This virtually guaranteed that the British GP would have low viewing figures.

It is likely therefore that the British GP will ask the FIA World Council to give it the July 11 date.
