Canada on the rocks (again)

Attempts to raise the money needed to save the Canadian Grand Prix appear to have failed with the end of October deadline failing to produce the finance needed to save the race. Reports in Canada say that Molson Inc. and George Gillett, owner of the Montreal Canadiens, failed to put together a package with the race promoter Normand Legault to save the race. They were after a shareholding in the business but Legault was not interested in selling.

It seems that the demand from the teams of $2m for an 18th race was simply too much for the Canadians to find.
