Davison to get chance with Renault?

Australian Will Davison has staked his claim to a place in the Renault Driver Development Program after dominating a two-day test at Oulton Park and Snetterton at the wheel of a Hi-Tech Racing Formula 3 car. The team's Renault-backed drivers for 2003 Danny Watts and Eric Salignon have both been dropped from the programme.

Davison was quicker than a selection of the best of Europe's F3 drivers including Nelson Piquet Jr. and Nico Rosberg.

"Anyone who is anyone in F3 was at the test and we were on top of them all," said a delighted Davison. "It's good to be able to prove a point."

Davison has been racing this year for Alan Docking Racing and won a round of the British F3 series at Croft in May but then decided to switch to Menu Motorsport for the final races of the year. His results improved immediately.
