Little Al injured in desert crash

Al Unser Jr, one of the top names in US racing, has been injured in an accident one his estate in Chama, New Mexico. The 41-year-old crashed while riding an all-terrain vehicle and was crushed beneath the device. He has suffered fractures to his pelvis. The Indy Racing League star, twice winner of the Indianapolis 500, was out riding his father four-time Indy 500 winner Al Unser.

"We were just having fun," said Big Al. "It's one of those things that happens when you least expect it. He must have hit a rock or something, because the ATV just rolled on top of him."

Little Al is still a big draw in the Indy Racing League and won his most recent victory in the Bombardier 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway on June 7.
