Pizzonia impresses for Williams

Antonio Pizzonia staked his claim not to be overlooked by Formula 1 teams with an impressive test last week with the Williams team at Jerez de la Frontera. The Brazilian, fired by Jaguar at the midseason, was keen to show that what happened earlier this year was not his fault and that he should still be seen as a rising star rather than a fading one. At 23 he is still the youngest man to have raced in F1 this year with the exception of Fernando Alonso and Zsolt Baumgartner.

Although Pizzonia has little hope of an F1 drive next year he wants to try to convince Williams to use him for more testing in the future in the hope that he can use that as a springboard back into F1.

Pizzonia completed 88 laps for the team and was faster than the team's regular test driver Marc Gene.

He is still working on taking legal action against Jaguar Racing.
