Baumgartner confirmed
Hungary's Zsolt Baumgartner has been granted a Formula 1 Superlicence and will stand in for Ralph Firman in the second Jordan at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Baumgartner drove for the team during Friday testing and when Firman crashed heavily on Saturday morning, the Jordan team decided to try to get Baumgartner a Superlicence.
"Ralph is going to stay in the hospital for 24 hours for observation," said Eddie Jordan. "That is perfectly routine. Professor Watkins, the FIA Medical Delegate, reported that Ralph made a very quick recovery, recognised the Prof at the scene of the accident and the check up showed that he has nothing more than bruising to one ankle. The head rest did a superb job."
