CART's annual meeting

The CART shareholders are due to get together later this week but chief executive Chris Pook says he isn't expecting any major developments about the ownership of the US series. The meeting takes place in Indianapolis on Thursday and it is anticipated that it will be followed by a meeting of the new board of directors at which important decisions will be made about the future strategy of the business. This may result in a decision over when and how to take the company off Wall Street and put it back into private hands, possibly in the hands of Bernie Ecclestone.

Ecclestone is unlikely to be in Indianapolis (or for that matter at Silverstone) on Thursday as he is currently on holiday in the Balkans.
