Bahrain looks ahead to a boom

The Bahrain government is busy getting ready for the first Formula 1 event which is expected to take place in April next year and is investing heavily in the infrastructure which will be needed to host a Grand Prix and the influx of tourists which the locals hope the race will bring. There are plans for the development of new resorts in the area and it has recently been announced that Bahrain airport is to undergo a $130m expansion to increase the annual capacity from six million to 15m.
