Williams and Budweiser
The word in the paddock at Magny Cours was that Williams has concluded a major new five-year sponsorship deal with the American brewing company Budweiser, a brand of the Anheuser-Busch company. Budweiser was in lengthy negotiation with Ferrari but it seems that these talks broke down about a month ago and it now seems that Budweiser has decided that the best move is to ally with Williams. This means however that Budweiser will have to give up its traditional red color scheme as BMW Williams has a policy of running only blue and white logos on the car. The deal is believed to be worth about $10m a year.
The team refuses to comment on the rumors.
