Fontana returns to Formula 3000

Norberto Fontana was in Formula 1 with Sauber back in 1997 but failed to make a good enough impression to stay in Grand Prix racing. The Argentine driver, who is still only 28, has not given up the dream and will be back in Formula 3000 his weekend at the wheel of a BCN Formula 3000 car, replacing Australia's Rob Nguyen, who has run out of sponsorship. Fontana, who beat Ralf Schumacher, Jarno Trulli and Alexander Wurz to the 1995 German Formula 3 title has been racing this year in the Argentine touring car championship.

Nguyen may return to the team if he can raise some more money.
