Piquet name back in the winner's circle

Nelson Piquet's son, Nelson Angelo Piquet, has scored his first win in the British Formula 3 Championship. The 17-year-old Brazilian took victory at Knockhill, on his first visit to the Scottish track. He was second in the first of the two races and then won the second. The victory also makes Piquet Jr. the youngest man ever to win a round of the British F3 series, the previous youngest winner being back in 1979 when New Zealander Mike Thackwell won a race at the age of 18.

With Nelson Sr. pushing hard to help his son's career, it is probably only a matter of time before we see the name Piquet back on the side of an F1 car.

Nelson Sr was the Formula 1 World Champion in 1981, 1983 and 1987, driving for Brabham-Ford, Brabham-BMW and Williams-Honda.
