Bobbi proving his worth

Matteo Bobbi is seen in Formula 1 circles as a pay-driver who is bringing money to be able to drive around on Friday mornings in a Minardi. But the Italian is working hard to get rid of that image and his activities in the FIA GT championship seem to be bearing fruit. He won at the first round of the series in Barcelona and has now followed up with a second victory at Magny-Cours in his BMS Ferrari Maranello, which he shares with former Formula 3000 racer Thomas Biagi. The victory was not clear-cut because Jamie Campbell-Walter's Lister hit technical trouble in the last few laps of the race, but Bobbi had nonetheless shown his class by battling with Le Mans winner Christophe Bouchut and former F1 driver Jean-Marc Gounon.
