Oh, those April Fools
The mayor of Zurich yesterday said that on a local radio station that he is bidding for a Grand Prix. He also said that he had managed to convince the Alinghi America's Cup-winning team to bring its boat to the Zurichsee and that there would be a demonstration that afternoon. Around 400 people turned up.
In South Africa there was much excitement when it was suggested that Tomas Scheckter would be replacing Minardi's injured Jos Verstappen at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The stories suggested that Verstappen had injured his ankle during testing and had to withdraw from the Brazilian race. The only slight problem is that Minardi do not test!
It is also rather unlikely that there will be a Grand Prix in Liechtenstein...
