Mr President...

The president of Italy Carlo Azeglio Ciampi visited the Ferrari headquarters at Maranello for a tour of the company's F1 team and the new Maserati factory nearby. Ciampi spoke of the importance of Ferrari to Italy as a symbol for the country around the world and a force for unity within Italy itself. Ciampi was driven around the Ferrari test track in a Ferrari 575M Maranello, driven by the company boss Luca di Montezemolo and then had a lap driving with Montezemolo as his passenger.
