Jordan and Renault testing in Barcelona

Jordan and Renault resumed testing in Barcelona Monday in cool conditions. Renault fielded three drivers, and Jordan two, with Fernando Alonso ending the day at the top of the time sheet in a Renault R23 by nearly three seconds.

Alonso's teammate Jarno Trulli was second fastest on the day, conducting a race simulation in a R23, while team test driver Allan McNish worked on suspension development in last year's R202.

Jordan fielded both Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman in EJ23 chassis. Both conducted general aerodynamic and mechanical chassis balance work. Fisichella was about three tenths quicker than his rookie teammate.

Testing will continue in Barcelona Tuesday.
