...while Schumacher debuts the F2003

Michael Schumacher showed the potential of the new F2003-GA during its on-track debut Tuesday at the team's Fiorano test circuit. Ferrari reported that the German broke his old track record, set last summer in the FW2002, by nearly half a second while completing 78 laps of the circuit.

Schumacher's teammate Rubens Barrichello was busy in Valencia Tuesday, continuing development of the F2002. As was the case last year, the team will start the new season with last year's car, while they ensure the reliability of the new car.

Coincidentally, Juan Pablo Montoya outpaced Barrichello and broke the track record in Valencia Tuesday in the new Williams challenger, the FW25.
