Ferrari fastest in Barcelona testing

Testing in Barcelona continued Tuesday, and Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello continued to set the pace while testing with tire supplier Bridgestone. The teammates swapped positions from Monday; this time Schumacher was on top by about three tenths.

Olivier Panis worked in the new Toyota TF103, taking over from teammate Cristiano Da Matta, who worked Sunday and Monday. Panis, like Da Matta on Monday, was third fastest behind the Ferraris.

Nick Heidfeld finished his testing duties in Barcelona for the week. The German continued an aerodynamic program, and will now head to Lurcy-Levis in France to conduct straight-line tests. Heinz-Harald Frentzen will continue testing in Barcelona for the team Wednesday.

Jarno Trulli and Allan McNish continued development of the Renault R23, wrapping up the team's testing for the week. Both drivers conducted set-up work as well tire development for Michelin. Renault's next test is scheduled for next week in Valencia.

Juan Pablo Montoya and Marc Gene tested for Williams again Tuesday. Montoya was once again behind the wheel of the new FW25 running the 2002-spec aerodynamic package.

BAR wrapped up its week of testing Tuesday with Jenson Button and Jacques Villeneuve. Both were affected by mechanical problems which limited their scheduled programs. The pair completed the fewest number of laps on the day and finished at the bottom of the time sheet.
