Tilke goes to Bangalore

Hermann Tilke, the man who designs most of the Formula 1 circuits these days, has been visiting the city of Bangalore in India to inspect a site which the local government is considering turning into a Formula 1 racing facility. Tilke was accompanied on his trip by Michael Taub, who has been trying to organize an Indian Grand Prix for several years and was heavily involved in the abortive project in Calcutta.

The pair met with state government officials from various departments and the state's chief minister S M Krishna. They are trying to convince the local authorities that a race in the area could be a major boost for tourism in the region.
