Ford suspends Jaguar X-Type production
Times are hard in the automobile world at the moment and it has just been announced that Jaguar is to suspend production of its X-type model for up to three weeks because of falling sales because of the economic and political uncertainty around the world. The move is being done to redress an balance between production and stock levels - in other words there are too many cars in the show rooms.
The major purpose of the Jaguar Racing F1 programme is to change the image of the company and push sales of the S-Type and the X-Type which were aimed at BMW's 5 and 3 series markets respectively.
