Sauber, Ferrari testing in Jerez

Sauber and Ferrari continued testing at Jerez Friday with Nick Heidfeld and Luca Badoer, respectively.

Heidfeld completed 66 laps while testing different aerodynamic configurations and mechanical set-ups. The German's day was interrupted in the morning when a bird hit his helmet at nearly 140mph. "All I heard was the noise, but I did not feel the impact. When I got back to the pits we found the bird and lots of feathers in the cockpit. I do not know what it is about the car, but Heinz-Harald Frentzen had a similar incident during testing at Silverstone last year. Luckily this time the bird was a lot smaller!" Frentzen will be behind the wheel for the Swiss team Saturday.

Badoer continued tire development for Bridgestone, completing a total of 101 laps in two Ferrari chassis. Badoer will return to Jerez Saturday.
