Shanghai lands the Expo in 2010

Shanghai is continuing its push to become an internationally-recognised location, following up its bid for a Grand Prix by announcing that it has won its bid to host the 2010 World Exposition. Shanghai won the event over Moscow, Wroclaw in Poland, Yeosu in South Korea and Mexico's Queretaro. Shanghai's construction plans replated to the Grand Prix and to Expo will include new hotel accomodations and the world's first commercial magnetic levitation train system. It is anticipated that up to five million people will visit the city for the Expo and that will be a huge boost for the city's coffers.
