Antonio Pizzonia and Jaguar

The rumors that Jaguar Racing will sign up Mark Webber and Antonio Pizzonia for next year have been circulating for some weeks and although Jaguar has yet to make any official announcement it is perhaps significant that Williams, for which Pizzonia works as a test driver, is planning to test Vitantonio Liuzzi in a few weeks from now.

Ostensibly Williams has two test drivers signed up for next year: Marc Gene and Pizzonia. But the rumors in recent weeks have indicated that Pizzonia might be placed next year at Jaguar Racing in order for him to get racing experience so that in 2005 when Williams needs to replace either Ralf Schumacher or Juan Pablo Montoya there will be a race-ready stand-in available. If that happens Williams needs a new test driver and Liuzzi fits the bill. If the team's recent record is followed one can expect Liuzzi to be a Williams test driver, while racing in Formula 3000.
