Murray doing the talking
Murray Walker, the famed British Formula 1 commentator is on a world tour to promote his biography which was published recently in Britain. Walker who commentated for the BBC and for ITV over a period of 50 years, will appear on David Letterman's Late Show this week and will then fly off to Australia and New Zealand for more promotional events. Walker is due to commentate on the Japanese Grand Prix for Australia's Channel Nine, standing in for regular commentator, Formula 1 World Champion Alan Jones, who will be racing in the Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama that weekend.
The show will mark the end of Channel Nine's Formula 1 coverage as the station has decided not to continue with Grand Prix racing next year. It is anticipated that Channel 10 will do a deal with Bernie Ecclestone for the future.
