Franchitti, Andretti and Kanaan join forces in IRL

Andretti Green Racing has announced that it is switching from CART to the Indy Racing League next year, taking team owner Michael Andretti, Dario Franchitti and new recruit Tony Kanaan to the oval series with it. The news was expected but still comes as another blow to CART. Paul Tracy, who has driven for the team this year, is moving to Players Forsythe Racing in CART.
