Arrows pays creditor
It seems that Arrows refuses to die. According to reports on the Reuter newsagency, the troubled team has now paid off Champion Recruitment Limited, the employment agency which had a winding-up order against the team.
The High Court in Leeds is due to hear that petition tomorrow and even if Champion has been paid others, including Jos Verstappen (who is owed millions of dollars), are still keen for the team to be wound up. One must assume that Arrows has looked into the legal implications of paying one creditor ahead of all the others and decided that this will not be an issue.
What will now happen in Leeds remains to be seen but it possible that that the case will be adjourned. If that happens the F1 circus will be watching to see what Arrows does about going to Monza for the Italian GP. The team is already under investigation by the FIA for failing to compete in the last two Grands Prix and there is a risk that the federation will simple draw a line and exclude the team from the World Championship, bringing to an end the entire affair.
