Bourdais captures F3000 pole at Spa
Sebastien Bourdais took a step towards reclaiming the F3000 points lead in Belgium Friday by capturing the pole for Saturday's race. The Frenchman set the fastest time of the day early in the first session, after the Formula One boys laid down some rubber in their practice sessions. The track slowed throughout the day, so the early times held through the second session.
Current points leader Thomas Enge will start next to his rival on the front row. The Arden International driver was about four tenths off Bourdais' time. Antonio Pizzonia will start third, next to Giorgio Pantano, the man in third place in the points battle.
Only Monza remains on the F3000 calendar following this weekend.
