Panis to Replace Salo at Toyota

Toyota has announced that Olivier Panis has signed a two year deal for 2003 and 2004, replacing Mika Salo. It was reported that the team and Salo came to a mutual agreement to end their contract after this season.

There were expected to be changes at Toyota next year, but it was expected that Salo would stay with the team and Allan McNish would be replaced, perhaps by CART driver Cristiano da Matta. McNish's contract ends at the end of this season.
