McLaren to announce drivers today
MCLAREN will announce its driver line-up for 2003 later today at Hockenheim. The only point of interest will be the identity of the third driver as there is not expected to be any change with the two main drivers David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen. This may be a significant point as there is still the possibility that if any more teams disappear in the months ahead that the big teams will be asked to supply third cars. The Concorde Agreement states that this will happen if the entry drops below 20.
Thus the third drivers in the big teams are well positioned if it is necessary for the sport to up the numbers.
