The Gonzalo Rodriguez Awards

GONZALO RODRIQUEZ was killed in the autumn of 1999 while trying to build a career for himself in the CART series in the United States of America. The Uruguayan driver was a winner in Formula 3000 but did not have the money to find a seat in F1 at the time. The Gonzalo Rodriguez Memorial Foundation was established in 2000 and is now supporting the sporting activities of thousands of children in Uruguayan state school. The foundation is now planning to introduce a series of awards in Formula 3000 to help to draw attention to the formula (which is often overlooked) and to the work of the foundation. The Winning Attitude Awards will be presented at a dinner in Monza in September and will be voted by those involved in F3000.
