Bernard and trackside signage...

THERE was a minor spat on Sunday between F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone and Silverstone over the question of signage.

The F1 boss was flying to the track on Sunday morning in a helicopter when it was forced to land elsewhere because of low cloud. Ecclestone then went by car but the huge amount of work which has been done at Silverstone left the chauffeur confused and Ecclestone was lost for some time and later complained that there was insufficient signage to show people where to go.

For the most part however there were few complaints about the work done at the track with a very impressive revamp of the access and parking arrangements. Work will begin shortly on a new pit building and media center and by next year the organizers say the track will be one of the best in the world.
