As Paris plays charades... F1 goes on elsewhere
WORLDCOM, the second largest US long-distance telephone and date services provider, announced late Tuesday that it has fired its CFO Scott Sullivan, after discovering accounting irregularities.
The problems which have been announced for Worldcom are not thought likely to have a massive effect on the Williams F1 team, which is sponsored by the giant American telecommunication company. The company has been slowly reducing its involvement in the sport in recent years after what was originally a big deal with Stewart GP.
The Worldcom logos are barely visible on the cars but the company is believed to contribute a decent sum to the Grove-based team.
