Grand Prix Ball to pull in celebs

THE British Grand Prix Ball is expected to pull in a host of British celebrities including soccer stars Gary Lineker and Ryan Giggs, jockey Richard Dunwoody and boxer turned racer Barry McGuigan - and the organizers say that eight of the current 22 Formula 1 drivers will also be present - a good haul if they all turn up. The event, which will feature a Dodgem Challenge between celebrities and racing drivers (if they are allowed to compete). The event is being held as usual at Stowe School.

The music for the evening will be provided not by one motor racing's ragtag rock and roll bands but by professional performers who will include the recently-re-formed Sister Sledge and Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.

The Ball is being held to raise charity and one of the items up for auction will be chance to go two miles down in the Atlantic Ocean (in a submarine) to look at the wreck of the SS Titanic.
