Canadian TV viewing figures in the US disappointing

BUILDING up Formula 1 in the United States of America was always going to be a lengthy business but recent TV viewing figures from Monaco gave much hope that the US is beginning to wake up to the delights of Grand Prix racing. But unfortunately the Nielsen Media Research results from the Canadian GP were not as good as had been expected. The Monaco GP rated a 2.0 (around 4m people) but Canada (despite having the advantage of being on the same time zone) rated only a 1, which made it 17th on the list of popularity for sports events.
